Law & Order

Current Situation: In our country, when a person dies, their property remains in their name. However, when property remains in the name of a deceased person, disputes over inheritance among heirs often arise. Over time, these disputes escalate, sometimes leading to violence, even murder. In many families, out of respect and honor, the division of property is not carried out immediately after a father’s death. Later, when the deceased’s grandchildren demand their share, severe conflicts arise, affecting not just family members but also relatives and neighbors. Problem: Since property remains in the name of the deceased, disputes between sons, daughters, and grandchildren over inheritance create major issues. A significant number of legal cases in the country stem from such disputes. Cases involving murder and various forms of harassment are often linked to the issue of property being in the name of a deceased person. Proposal: After a person’s death, their property should be legally transferred and distributed among their spouse, sons, and daughters. A law should be passed to ensure that no property remains under the name of a deceased person and that ownership is transferred to the rightful living heirs. Upon a person’s death, their heirs must complete the necessary legal documentation within a specified period to claim their rightful share. There should be no informal possession or inheritance conflicts. No property should remain unallocated without a legal document in the name of a living person. Benefits: If heirs officially document their rightful shares after a person’s death, there will be no family conflicts over land division and ownership. This will prevent any malicious intentions among family members. People will remain sincere and cooperative with each other. As a result, disputes, murders, and legal cases related to property will be significantly reduced in the country.

Current Situation: At present, various political parties and people from different professions in our country hold meetings and rallies on the roads. This causes traffic jams and significant losses to businesses. Problem: Meetings and rallies on roads create traffic congestion. Accidents often occur. General people and transportation passengers face significant losses. In critical situations, people cannot reach hospitals on time and end up losing their lives. Essential roads remain blocked, preventing passengers from traveling abroad. Fire services cannot reach their destinations on time, and students cannot arrive at examination centers punctually. In summary, no one can reach their destination on time. Proposal: For the purpose of national development, every city must have designated locations for meetings or public gatherings. Each city should have a specific field for such events. In these fields, meetings can only be held with the permission of the district commissioner or sub-district executive officer. If a meeting causes traffic congestion, any citizen or the administration can take legal action. If any harm is caused to the public during meetings or rallies, the organizers must bear full responsibility for compensation. A clear and well-defined law must be enacted for the above proposals, and appropriate measures should be taken to enforce it. Benefits: If this law is implemented, there will be no traffic congestion on roads. General people's movement will not face any obstacles. Businesses can operate smoothly without disruption. The country's economy will not suffer any losses.

Current Situation: Most markets, shops, and bazaars in our country are located next to main roads. Vehicles are parked and maintained near these roads. Problem: This causes safety and travel issues for the public. Traffic congestion is increasing. People are unable to reach their destinations on time. Road accidents are steadily rising. Drivers face difficulties driving properly. Business activities are hindered due to multiple problems. Fuel consumption is increasing unnecessarily, and the nation’s economy is being wasted significantly. Proposal: All markets, shops, and bazaars must be located at least 20 yards away from main roads. Vehicles that obstruct road traffic or conduct maintenance work must not be parked on the road. If a vehicle is parked or any maintenance work is conducted, a fine of 5000/- BDT should be imposed along with legal actions. The aforementioned proposal must be enacted as law and appropriately enforced. No administrative work, such as paperwork, should be conducted in public gathering areas on highways, such as cattle markets, crop and paddy markets, or political banners and arches. If any individual engages in such activities and causes an accident, they must take full responsibility for the consequences. Benefits: If this proposal is implemented, road accidents will significantly decrease. There will be no traffic congestion on the roads. Markets and shops will be established in convenient locations for the public. Business owners will benefit, and transportation systems will remain efficient, ensuring passengers reach their destinations on time.

Current Situation: Currently, most drivers in Bangladesh are unaware of traffic laws. They drive vehicles as they wish. Problem: Due to drivers' lack of knowledge about traffic laws, accidents and traffic congestion are increasing. Many lives are being lost, and many people are becoming permanently disabled. The transportation sector is on the verge of collapse. Many transportation business owners are withdrawing from the industry. Drivers are becoming offenders due to their ignorance of traffic laws. Proposal: To sustain the transport sector and prevent road accidents, all drivers must be educated about traffic laws and compelled to follow them. To implement this, drivers need to be trained in reading road signs, code-specific pedestrian crossings, speed breakers, speed limits, and other violations. Drivers who fail to follow these signs should face fines starting from a minimum of 100/- BDT. Drivers complying with traffic laws must receive proper acknowledgment. Any driver who ignores stop signs will face mandatory consequences. This proposal should be enforced through legal mechanisms and implemented by the administration. Law enforcement must verify drivers thoroughly before issuing licenses. Appropriate legal action should be taken against anyone issued a license improperly. Benefits: Road accidents and traffic congestion will be eliminated. The general public will be able to travel without disruptions. There will be no losses in the transportation sector. The transport industry will thrive. People on main roads will move freely without inconveniences. The country's communication infrastructure will improve. Current Situation: At present, the Constitution of Bangladesh has provisions for punishing offenders. However, in practice, it is evident that proper punishments are not implemented against members of parliament or ministers. When a major offender commits a serious crime, they are given minimal punishment and later acquitted. Meanwhile, some individuals receive punishment even when they are not guilty. Problem: Respect for the law among the general public in our country has diminished. Due to the misuse of the law, administrators lack accountability towards the public. Appropriate solutions for eligible individuals are being hindered. Influential figures such as ministers and members of parliament are often immune to proper legal consequences for their actions. The general public is not receiving fair justice. Administrative appointments, transfers, and dismissals influenced by political authority exacerbate these issues. Proposal: To ensure the Constitution’s laws are effective, the Prime Minister of the country must also be subject to accountability if they commit any wrongdoing. This would require allowing courts to prosecute MPs or ministers in accordance with evidence and legal processes. To implement these proposals, the administrative, legal, and judicial bodies must be given complete independence to operate. Government appointments and administrative decisions must not be influenced politically. Without this, the proposals cannot be effective. No one is above the law. Benefits: If this law is implemented, no offender will evade punishment. Public trust in the legal system will be restored. Influential individuals like MPs and ministers will also face justice for their crimes. This will eliminate corruption and social injustice from the country, fostering development and respect for the rule of law.
